Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society

Delta meets monthly in Sacramento and holds plant sales and a flower show in September.

If you are interested in exhibiting at a Gesneriad Society Chapter show, you may want to join Delta. You can request an application form using the contact information on the page below. They are the only Society holding shows right now in Northern California, and their membership fee is even lower than it was in San Francisco!

For contact information, see the Chapter information on the Gesneriad Society's website.

Delta is also on Facebook.

Transcontinental GS and PGS

As a complement to formal Society membership, Alan LaVergne hosts informal meetings on gesneriads, both on Zoom and in person.

Transcontinental GS is a monthly Zoom meet-ing (second Thursdays, 6 pm Pacific time). Alan has been hosting this meeting since 2020. The meeting has participants from the United States and Canada.

PGS is an informal in-person meeting. Alan has been hosting this meeting at his house in Palo Alto for several years. The meeting is named after the Peninsula Gesneriad Society, formerly a Chapter of the Gesneriad Society.

If you would like to join one or both of these meetings, please contact Alan at venn@burwur.net.

SFGesneriads

The sfgesneriads mailing list is available to connect people interested in gesneriads in the Bay Area. This was previously the San Francisco Gesneriad Society's members list. If you would like to join, please contact us.

The Tiny Jungle

The Tiny Jungle is a local nursery offering orchids, gesneriads, begonias, pinguiculas and more. Visits are by appointment only.

Gardeneur

Gardeneur is a business that organizes plant sales all over the Bay Area throughout the year.

The Gesneriad Society

Last but not least, The Gesneriad Society, while not local, offers many resources such as the free newsletter Gleanings. Membership gives access to a seed fund!
