The Prez Sez...

Another year and I have come out of the doldrums and am cleaning up in the greenhouse. After months of neglect, there are too many empty pots and regrettably a mealy bug or two. But when I get finished it will look good and I'll have space for some new plants. Does anyone have an Alsobia dianthiflora that could spare a few stems for cuttings? And how about any spare micro-mini sinningias? I did find Kohleria rhizomes in bare pots so have done some repotting. Now we'll see what's left in the achimenes pots!
I don't think I will have the Yearbook for you this month, but it will be ready by next month. Programs have yet to be declared, so if you have any wishes for programs, be ready to say so at this coming meeting, at which I hope to see you all!
P.S. Dues are now due, well, past due! Please fill out the form at the end of this newsletter and send it to Gene right away. As of this date, January 13, only 10 of the 26 members have renewed! I hope it is merely an oversight and you are not mad at us! So get those dues in ASAP so that the yearbook can go out with a complete roster.

For the January 21st meeting, we will have a Gesneriad Society slide program on "Nematanthus and Codananthe." Also, please give some thought to programs or field trips we might want to plan for this year, as we will collect these ideas during the meeting.
