Program: Slide show on Sinningias

The Prez Sez...

by Katherine Henwood

April is here, the maple tree is putting out blossoms, the leaves will be along soon. Not much going on in the greenhouse, it is due to get a new roof soon so I've not done much in the propagation department. But I have some strep leaves putting up babies and will put down my coda. seeds tomorrow.  My next big chore (after the last flower ved) is to repot the streps.  They do appreciate fresh potting soil and the disturbance of being repotted seems to spur them on.

The April meeting will be slide show from The Gesneriad Society on sinningias.  I hope to see you there!

Minutes of the March 25, 2007 Meeting

by David Waugh

The meeting was called to order at 1:11pm by President Katherine Henwood.   The following were also present:  David Waugh, Gene Sussli, Terri Lynn Campbell,  Jon Dixon, Harriette Poss, Anna Chou, Kevin Daly.

The President apologized again for the error regarding the March meeting date.

Minutes:  There were no corrections to the minutes for the February meeting which were in the March newsletter.

The Treasurer passed around a report summarizing our financial condition for February 2007.  We have a comfortable balance in our checking account as well at our CD.  If anyone not at the meeting wants a copy of this report please request it the Treasurer.  There are no outstanding bills.

Since the Treasurer is still unable to sign checks for the club at our present bank, it was suggested that the Treasurer see if opening a new account at a different bank would solve the problem.  The Treasurer will check in to it.

Continuing Business:  Various options for programs for the rest of 2007 were discussed and will be finalized by the program chairman.

David Waugh passed around the new March-April seed list from Brazilplants for members to make selections they might like to have.   We are entitled to six seed packets with our membership.

Jon Dixon was presented with the “Best in Show” ribbon which he won at our September 2006 show.   The ribbon was not available until now.

The program was a slide show from Harriette Poss of her trip to Equador in 1989 with a group from the Gesneriad Society.

We then did Show and Tell and the Raffle.

The meeting was adjourned by 4pm.
