The Prez Sez...
by Katherine Henwood
January again, cold and wet. Weeds coming up, plants all in sort of a stasis. It looks like I've lost all the episcias again, but the little strepocarpus cyanandrus are blooming. Some of the seedlings from my tall Sinningia with the apricot blossoms are in bloom. So far they all seem to be the pale apricot color. I'll bring some in at our meeting on the 15th.
Programs for the year are still in limbo, but I hope to have the yearbook ready for the meeting!
If you haven't paid your dues, you should do it now. Send your check to Ken Parker (see form at the end of the newsletter).
January Program
by Terri Campbell
Ron Parsons will give an informal talk and slide presentation on Orchids and other Wildflowers of South West Australia.
Nearly everyone in the AGS-SF was able to enjoy Ron's gorgeous slides and his fascinating talk on the Scrophulariaceae family in November. We're looking forward to another presentation by Ron at our January meeting.

Holiday Party 2005
by David Waugh, Secretary
No official business took place at the Holiday Luncheon. Twenty-two of us met at Lakeside Cafe, San Francisco on December 18 for a sumptuous meal of chicken, steak, or fish. We were having such a good time chatting after the meal and exchanging gifts (those who participated) the restaurant finally asked us to leave because another banquet was to take place in the same room. Many people remarked that it was the largest gathering that they remember in recent years and everyone seemed to have an enjoyable time.
